HUMAN SERVICES ADVISORY COMMITTEE

CALL TO ORDER
The Human Services Advisory Committee (HSAC) meeting for April 18, 2023 was called to
order at 3:04 p.m.

April 18, 2023 Human Services Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Approval of March 21, 2023 Human Services Advisory Committee Meeting minutes.
Chair Scovel proposed an amendment to the March 21, 2023 Human Services Advisory
Committee meeting minutes. Chair Scovel requested to correct the roll call: Member
Portolano was present, and Member Anderson was absent.
Moved by Member Larson, seconded by Member Portolano.
MOTION CARRIED.
AUDIENCE COMMENT
No audience comments.
NEW BUSINESS
Benita Horn, Equity & Inclusion Consultant provided a presentation about Implicit Bias. Topics
that were covered in the presentation: exploring how implicit bias impacts decisions and
outcomes and reviewing tools available to us that support equitable outcomes.
Jason Seth, City Clerk/Public Records Officer conducted training covering the Open Public
Meetings Act, Public Records Act, and Robert's Rules of Order.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 4:28 p.m.
The next Human Services Advisory Committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 16,
2023 at 3:00 p.m. via Zoom or in person.
