NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, pursuant to Chapter 1-3 of the Renton
Municipal Code which authorizes the recovery of civil penalties and costs of abatement
through claim of lien and foreclosure thereof, the City of Renton hereby claims a lien as
indicated herein against the following described real property:

Description of Violation:
The City of Renton was granted summary judgement in the abatement lawsuit on August
18, 2017. The King County Superior Court found, among other findings, the 539 property
met the statutory criteria for a public nuisance. Reed was given 20 days to remedy the
condition. The order granted the City of Renton authority to enter the property, remove
the occupants and secure the premises if the nuisance conditions were not remedied in the
prescribed time. The 20-day period expired on September 7, 2017.
On September 8, 2017, the Superior Court affirmed the August 18, 2017, order and left
the findings undisturbed.
On September 20, 2017, the property was vacated and secured under the authority of the
Superior Court order.
