If so, they would not be the property owners, but I assume the HOA. If so, can you revise the front sheet of the master app? In addition, does your HOA have a website that shows that you are the authorized representative for the HOA (correct property owner)? Is the future tree maintenance you are proposing only above surface limb pruning, where needing, or will this include root pruning related to the tree root barrier? Thank you! These trees present a risk for the adjoining house located at 1115 N. 27th pl. This project would follow all the recommendations provided in the arborist report. Tree #2965 is recommended to snag. Requested pictures of tree #2965 are included in the arborist report. Proposed future maintenance includes routine pruning of Trees #2958, 2959, 2593, 2592, 2594, 2960, 2962, 2961, 2963, 2964 if they present future hazards . See arborist report. To help speed up and simplify the process, several of the submittal requirements will be waived. Provided no healthy trees are proposed for removal, only a critical areas exemption permit will be required, which has no permit fee. A critical areas exemption permit is required to prune trees within tree protection tracts; however, we can retroactively approve pruning via this permit for a period of 5 years. If you are proposing to remove or snag a dead tree, typically we require a tree risk assessment; however, in this case we are willing to accept a picture is lieu of a tree risk assessment form provided the picture clearly shows the tree is dead. In addition to the attached master application form, which must be signed by the HOA authorized representative and notarized, a project description, and the arborist report, is required. CAUTION: This email originated from outside the City of Renton. Do not click links, reply or open attachments unless you know the content is safe. The project description should clearly indicate your proposed tree work, consistent with the arborist report, and what you are requesting. For example, it should indicate how many trees you are proposing to snag or prune, and which trees will be provided root barriers. You can use the numbers referenced in the report. You can also simplify your project description by referencing that you will be following all the recommendations provided in the arborist report. In addition, it should also indicate your proposed future maintenance pruning (including which trees will require routine pruning). We cannot approve future pruning if you do not request it in the narrative. In summary, please provide the following to me via one email: · Master application form · Project Description · Picture of Dead Tree that you propose to snag · Arborist Report Thank you! That happens seldom. But these 3 trees will probably need regular/yearly? trimming because they are so close to the house. Not a lot of space around them like the many trees on the slope. Maybe I misunderstood Ian but I seem to remember that he said we don’t a permit to do this kind of trimming. Is that right for these 3 trees? To clarify one of your questions, when you refer to pruning, are you talking about yearly pruning all trees within the Tract? What trees are you referring to and what kind of pruning? That will help us answer your question. Thank you! CAUTION: This email originated from outside the City of Renton. Do not click links, reply or open attachments unless you know the content is safe. Let’s go with applying for root barrier and pruning. What are city requirements for future pruning maintenance? Can I just have the HOA landscape company prune the trees yearly? I need to confirm with management, however, I believe our department would consider waiving the requirement for a geotechnical report altogether if your proposal is to prune and provide root barrier only. FYI, If you are proposing to remove or snag any dead trees, a tree risk assessment form would be required. Thank you! She didn’t feel she could recommend removal because that the trees present only a moderate hazard now. But the problem for the HOA becomes a long term issue. The reason I would like to remove them is that the trees will need regular pruning because of the proximity to the house. The HOA spends a sizable portion of our landscaping cost in managing the trees in the protected areas. Planting 3 replacement trees more removed from the house would just make a lot of sense and save a lot of money. Do you have any suggestions on how to proceed?
