RE: Open Public Meetings Act Training
Dear Mr. Moran:
On December 11, 2014, a letter was sent to all members of City of Renton volunteer boards and
commissions with notification that as of July 1, 2014, the State of Washington Attorney General's
Office requires every member complete the Open Public Meetings Act training within 9O days of
taking the oath of off ice/appointment, and subsequently participate in refresher training at
intervals ofno more than four years.At the conclusion of training, each member is required Lo
sign a "Certificate of Training" confirming they have completed the training.These certificates are
to be kept on file by the governing body.This is in accordance with RCW 42.30.205.
Our records indicate that you must now take the training again in order to be in compliance with
the four-year interval component of the law.To comply with this regulation, please take a few
minutes to view the short training video (approximately 16 minutes in length), sign the enclosed
form, and return it to our office before K8aV31,2019, by U.S. mail, by e-mail to
orby fax to (425)43O-65I6.

Meetings—RCW42.30." |f you do not have internet access or have questions or difficulty linking
to the video, please contact the City Clerk's office at (425)430-6510 and we can arrange for you
tn come to our office to view the video. Please note that if we do not receive your signed
Certificate of Training prior to the May 31, 2019 deadline,the City rnav suspend or terminate
your appointment.
