ED73327 CASE# 23-7140 OF COLLISION 06/23/23 19:32 OF CbLLI510N NARRATIVE 23-7140 At about 1934 hours on 06/23/2023 1 was dispatched to a hit and run accident at, S Grady Way/ Talbot RD S, in the city of Renton, King County, Washington. Dispatch advised me that the suspect vehicle struck the reporting parties vehicle and took off east bound on S Grady Way. Vehicle information: White 2022 Honda Accord (CA LIC: 9BBH863) (VIN: 19XZE4F52NE013124). Driver: Melisa Arslan (DOB: 08/19/1995) via WADL Witness #1: Juanita Galloway (DOB 07/19/1951) Witness #2: Peter Bower (DOB 10/17/1994) Upon my arrival I located the victim vehicle in the middle of the intersection of S Grady Way/ Talbot RD S. The vehicle had damage to the front grill and bumper of the vehicle and debris was scattered throughout the intersection. I contacted the driver, Melisa and had her pull her vehicle into the parking lot of 800 S Grady Way. Now out of the roadway, I again contacted Melisa. Melisa had scrapes and cuts on her arms from the airbag but was otherwise unharmed in the collision. 1 called for Renton Fire Department to evaluate Melisa for her injuries, and she was later cleared by Renton Fire. The following is a summary of what Melisa told me. Melisa said she was in the #2 lane of#4 total lanes on Talbot RD S. Melisa said she was waiting at a red light waiting to go north through the intersection. Melisa said when the light turned green, she began to go straight through the intersection when a second vehicle flashed in front of her and collided with the front of her vehicle. Melisa said she thinks the vehicle came from the west side of the intersection and was traveling east through the intersection. Melisa said after the collision the other vehicle made no attempt to stop or exchange information and continued east on S Grady Way. Melisa said the vehicle was a white Volkswagen with no rear plate but couldn't remember any distinguishing characteristics about the vehicle or the driver. The following is a summary of what witness #1 said. Juanita said she was waiting at a red light facing south waiting to turn left. She said she saw Melisa start to drive through the intersection at a green light. Juanita said at that time a white car came speeding through the intersection east bound, blowing a red light and slamming into Melisa's vehicle before driving off. The following is a summary of what witness #2 said. Peter said he was a few cars behind Melisa as his and Melisa's light turned green, and Melisa began to go through the intersection. Peter said the white suspect vehicle came from the opposite direction and turned left in front of Melisa. Peter described the suspect vehicle as a white Volkswagen, either a Passat or Jetta. Peter also said the vehicle took off east bound on S Grady Way. No one involved in this collision saw a plate on the vehicle or could tell me anything about the driver of the suspect vehicle. Both witnesses provided me with written statements. Photos of the damage and Melisa's minor injuries were taken and uploaded via Axon capture. It should be noted that there are traffic cameras at this intersection and could potentially provide suspect information. Melisa's vehicle was drivable and did not require a tow.
