SUBJECT: Benson Hill Community Plan Advisory Board
Since the formation of the Benson Hill Community Plan Advisory Board in 2015, the
original thirteen-member Board now stands at just seven due to several original
members choosing not to be reappointed.
Mr. Martin Dawood sought the opportunity to be involved in civic matters and
discovered the Benson Hill Community Plan and its Advisory Board. According to
Martin's application, the Benson Hill is where he, his wife, and their daughter have
planted roots and where they'll be in the long-term. Staff believes Martin will make
a good addition to the Board and that the location of his residence near the center
of the Benson Hill Community Planning Area will afford staff with meaningful local
knowledge about the neighborhood. Additionally, Martin's professional background
in sports marketing could prove to be a valuable resource should the Board need to
advertise events or engage the community.
Staff further recommends a three-year term for Martin.
