Request for Proposals for the Madsen Creek Improvement Project Phase 1,
including Surveying, Hydraulic Analysis, and Preliminary Design
Submittal Date: February 2, 2018
The City of Renton is soliciting Proposals from qualified engineering consulting firms for
engineering services for the Madsen Creek Improvement Project Phase 1. The work includes
surveying, hydrologic analysis, hydraulic analysis, evaluation of the existing drainage systems,
identifying alternatives, and preliminary design of drainage improvements.
If your firm wishes to submit a Proposal, please refer to the complete text and requirements
contained in the “Request for Proposals” document available at the City of Renton website,
http://rentonwa.gov/bids/ or by contacting Daniel Carey, City of Renton Surface Water Utility
Engineer at 425-430-7293, or by email at dcarey@rentonwa.gov.
The City of Renton staff will evaluate the consultant’s proposals based on the project approach,
each firm's technical skills and resources, project team's technical skills, history of performance,
and knowledge. After the proposals have been evaluated, the highest ranked firms will be
interviewed. Final selection will be made based upon both the written proposals and the
interviews.
Women and Minority Business Enterprises (WMBE) are encouraged to submit proposals.
Deadline
Submit one (1) electronic copy of the written proposal on either CD or jump drive in PDF format
and five (5) hardcopies mailed or delivered to Renton City Hall at the following address: City of
Renton, Attn: RFP Madsen Creek Improvement Project/Daniel Carey, Surface Water Utility - 5th
Floor, 1055 South Grady Way, Renton, WA 98057. No faxes or emails will be accepted.
The deadline for submittals is 4:00 p.m. on February 2, 2018. If mailed, the submittal must be
postmarked no later than February 2, 2018.
