1, As acceptable alternatives to the rebar shown In the PRECAST BASE
SECTION, fibers (placed according to the Standard Specifications). of
wire mesh having a minimum area of 0.12 square Inches per foot shall
be used with the minimum required rebar shown In the ALTERNATIVE
PRECAST BASE SECTION. Wire mesh shall not be placed In the
knockouts.
2. The knockout diameter shall not be greater than 20". Knockouts shall
have a wall thickness of 2" minimum to 2.5" maximum. Provide a 1.5"
minimum gap between the knockout wall and the outside of the pipe.
After the pipe Is Installed, RI the gap with joint mortar In accordance
with Standard Specification 9-04.3.
3. The maximum depth from the finished grade to the lowest pipe invert
Shall be 5'.
4. The frame and grate must be Installed with the flange down.
5. The Precast Base Section may have a rounded floor. and the walls may
be sloped at a rate of 1:24 or steeper.
6. The opening shall be measured at the top of the precast base section.
7. AN pickup holes shall be grouted full after the basin has been placed.
8. AN grade rings and casings shall beset In mortar In accordance with
Standard Specification 9-04.3.

Trench Drain
1. The channels will be manufactured of HDPE with a 0,75% built-in slope. The
channels shall be a minimum of 80 inches in length (in order to minimize the amount of
joints) with mechanically interlocking ends. The channels will be manufactured with
vertical ribs twenty inches on center. Steel frames will be attached to the channels prior
to installation. Integral galvanized steel edge rails will not be allowed.
2. The channels wilt have integral tie-down/leveling devices at twenty inch intervals t0
assist in installation. The channels will have 0% water absorpl ion.
3. The grates will be longitudinally slotted ductile iron, and comply with ADA
requirements. The trench drain assembly will be rated for Load Class B.
