ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY/CODE INTERPRETATION
ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY/CODE INTERPRETATION #: CI-127 MUNICIPAL CODE SECTIONS: RMC 4-11-080, Definitions H
REFERENCE: N/A
SUBJECT: Definition of a Hedge
BACKGROUND: RMC 4-4-040 provides regulations for fences, hedges, and retaining walls; however, while both “fence” and “retaining wall” are defined in the code, “hedge” is not defined, which creates conflict when city staff apply height regulations.
JUSTIFICATION: RMC 4-11-080 should be amended to include a definition of hedge, so that city staff can more consistently apply hedge height regulations. DECISION: Amend RMC 4-11-080, Definitions H, as specified below.
ADMINISTRATOR APPROVAL: _______________________________________ C. E. “Chip” Vincent
