HomeMy WebLinkAboutCI-132 Department of Community and Economic Development Planning Division ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY/CODE INTERPRETATION ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY/CODE INTERPRETATION #: CI-132 MUNICIPAL CODE SECTIONS: RMC 4-9-140, Temporary Use Permits REFERENCE: N/A SUBJECT: Restricted Hours of Operation for Mobile Food Vendors BACKGROUND: RMC 4-9-240.K.2, Mobile Food Vendors, requires licensed vending units in the IL, IM, IH, CA, CV and CD zones to vacate their permitted locations between 12:00 a.m. (midnight) and 5:00 a.m. on a daily basis, except for a special event where a unit is allowed at the same location for up to seventy two (72) hours. Tier I Temporary Use Permits (TUPs) may permit mobile food vendors in the IL, IM, IH, CA, CV and CD zones, while Tier II TUPs may allow mobile food vendors to be located outside of the IL, IM, IH, CA, CV and CD zones. DECISION: Regardless of zoning, mobile food vendors are required to vacate their permitted locations between 12:00 a.m. (midnight) and 5:00 a.m. on a daily basis, except for a special event where a unit is allowed at the same location for up to seventy two (72) hours. JUSTIFICATION: The purpose of requiring mobile food vendors to vacate their permitted locations is not zone-specific, and was intended to be a citywide policy. Section 4-8-110 of the Renton Municipal Code provides further information on the appeal process.
