Thank you for your letter. I apologize, I did not realize I needed several
species of plants/trees/shrubs for this landscaping project (City of Renton
File LUA06-081, SF).
Currently the area along the front of the fence is completely barked. The
current plan is to plant three maple vines spaced out as scene on the attached
fon11. There will be a total of 10 2' boxwood hedges plancted in the area as
well, as noted on the attached fonn. Ground cover will consist of periwinkle
plants spaced out accordingly.

Dear Ms. McKenzie:
I received a copy of your proposed landscape plan for Special Fence Permit LUA 06-081 on
September 21, 2006. City of Renton code requires that landscape plans have a variety of plant
species including street trees, shrubs or ground cover in order to enhance the appearance of a
fence along a street that exceeds the standard height allowed under code. By using only one
species of plant, your plan does not provide adequate enhancement of the space outside your
fence.
Please revise your landscape plan to include at least two street trees in order to establish species
and height variation from the boxwood shrubs. Trees should be a minimum l "-2" caliper if
deciduous, or minimum 6"-8" height for coniferous trees. The revised landscape plan should be
sent to my attention no later than 30 days after receipt of this letter. As a reminder, all
landscaping must be completed within 180 days of the Development Services Division's approval
of the landscaping plan.

forgot to get this in the mail.

Modulation of the fence;
-Straight fency line, follows property line/rockery.
Similar design and material as other fences in surrounding neighborhood;
-Neighborhood was built in 1950's. There is wide range of fencing.
Most popular is 6' cedar fencing.
Increased setback from the adjacent sidewaL;
-Fence is 15' away from edge of street (no sidewalks).
Ornamental materials or construction treatment;
-No Ornamental material will be used. Fence will be stained with natural
cedar tone stain.
