There will be a total of 10 2' boxwood hedges plancted in the area as well, as noted on the attached fonn. Ground cover will consist of periwinkle plants spaced out accordingly. City of Renton code requires that landscape plans have a variety of plant species including street trees, shrubs or ground cover in order to enhance the appearance of a fence along a street that exceeds the standard height allowed under code. By using only one species of plant, your plan does not provide adequate enhancement of the space outside your fence. Please revise your landscape plan to include at least two street trees in order to establish species and height variation from the boxwood shrubs. Trees should be a minimum l "-2" caliper if deciduous, or minimum 6"-8" height for coniferous trees. The revised landscape plan should be sent to my attention no later than 30 days after receipt of this letter. As a reminder, all landscaping must be completed within 180 days of the Development Services Division's approval of the landscaping plan.
