STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Concur with Mayor Law's reappointment of AI Dieckman to the Parks Commission. � y t lune 23, 2014 � Renton Citv Council Minutes �,., Pa�e 196 Senior Assistant City Attorney Mark Barber confirmed that the ordinance may need to be revised in order to be more effective. He also pointed out that the only way to truly know if the ordinance will work is by going to court. Mayor Law added that he plans to communicate this public safety concern to the Liquor Control Board. He emphasized that there is a concern to Renton citizens and police officers because shots have actually been fired while officers were in their parking lot. He reiterated that the City is doing everything it can to get the situation under control. Councilmember Corman remarked that problem businesses actually cost the City money. He stated that City finds business owners who cannot control their tenants unacceptable,and he believes it is not right that taxpayers are essentially subsidizing these types of businesses that place a high demand on the police department. Mr. Corman urged Ms. Pergamo to understand that City officials do care about what is happening in her neighborhood. Council concur. Appointment: Parks Mayor Law reappointed AI Dieckman to the Parks Commission for a four-year Com_ missi ,on term expiring 6/1/2018. Council concur. Court Case: Hougland vs. Court Case filed by Randall Hougland, represented by Robert Goldsmith, Renton Police Department, Attorney for Plaintiff,vs. 2001 Nissan Pathfinder, Defendant in Rem,and the Forfeiture Moved to District Renton Police Department, regarding moving the forfeiture hearing from the Court Hearing Examiner to District Court. Refer to Citv Attorney. Community Services: 2015- Community Services Department recommended approval of the 2015-2017 2017 CDBG Grant Funds, King loint Interlocal Agreement for Community Development Block Grants with King County County for the purpose receiving and allocating the estimated $664,905 in grant funds. Refer to Community Services Committee. CAG: 13-037, Emergency Utility Systems Division submitted CAG-13-037, Emergency Power for CCTF Power for CCTF 2013, High 2013 project; and requested approval of the project, authorization for final pay Mountain Electrical estimate in the amount of$5,475, commencement of a 60-day lien period, and release of retainage in the amount of$6,285.81 to High Mountain Electrical, Inc., contractor if all required releases are obtained.
