Arbor Day/Earth Day Celebration
RENTON - The city’s annual Arbor Day and Earth Day celebration is on Saturday, April 27, from 9:30 a.m.
to 1:00 p.m., where we honor our commitment to the environment. Renton has been recognized as a
Tree City USA since 2008 and promotes the planting and care of trees which is one of the most effective
ways to protect the environment through reducing soil erosion, producing oxygen and improving
wildlife and fish habitats. Join our celebration at the May Creek Trail Site where volunteers from
neighborhoods, schools, businesses and service clubs will be planting native trees and shrubs to restore
and beautify the urban forest.
“I encourage all citizens to join in this celebration to promote nature’s well-being for this and future
generations,” said Mayor Denis Law. “The Arbor Day and Earth Day event is an opportunity to bring the
community together for the good of the environment.”
To register, contact the Community Services Department at 425-430-6600 by April 24.
