Renton Gears Up for another Seahawks Training Camp
Flags and Banners Welcome Seahawks Fans for Fifth Year
RENTON – The city is going all out to welcome the fifth annual Bing Training Camp to Renton. Mayor Denis
Law presented a proclamation on Monday, July 15, declaring August to be ”Renton Welcomes Seahawks Fans
to Training Camp Month,“ and the “12” flag is flying high above Renton City Hall and several other public
facilities. Seahawks Training Camp is sold out this year and over 25,000 fans are expected to attend this
month.
Throughout the city “Renton Welcomes Seahawks Fans” banners will proudly tout fan spirit, and local
businesses, organizations and fans will display Training Camp 2013 cheer cards. Fans can download cheer
cards from the city’s website at rentonwa.gov. Everyone is being asked to wear blue and green colors and put
on their “12” buttons during training camp to show their support. Businesses are also encouraged to use their
own reader boards to celebrate Seahawks Training Camp 2013 in Renton.
“We are really excited to welcome fans from all over the region to Seahawks Training Camp in Renton,” said
Mayor Denis Law. “As you cheer the Seahawks and enjoy training camp I encourage you to spend time in
Renton and take advantage of all that we have here–great shopping, fabulous restaurants, beautiful parks,
and fun recreation activities.”
The fifth annual training camp at the spectacular Virginia Mason Athletic Center (VMAC), the Seattle
Seahawks’ headquarters and training facility in Renton, starts on July 25 and includes practices through August
14. The Landing in Renton will serve as the parking and transportation center. This year training camp is sold
out. For more information about the Seahawks, please visit seahawks.com.
The Renton Community Marketing Campaign is taking advantage of the large volume of visitors coming to
Renton by promoting opportunities to shop, dine, stay and play in Renton. The Seahawks’ website,
