Rainier Avenue South Improvement Project – Ribbon Cutting Ceremony December 9, 2013
WHAT: Ribbon cutting ceremony for the Rainier Avenue South Improvement Project.
Rainier Avenue South serves as the major north-south thoroughfare through downtown
Renton, connecting South King County and South Seattle to Renton. This $42 million
completed project has resulted in improved transit mobility, upgraded traffic safety,
enhanced pedestrian safety, expanded business access and added welcoming art
displays creating a “Gateway” to the city of Renton.
WHO: Featured guest speakers include: Renton Mayor Denis Law; Sound Transit Chief
Executive Officer Joni Earl; State House Transportation Committee Chair Judy Clibborn;
Transportation Improvement Board Director Stevan Gorcester.
