City Receives $4.6 million grant for Logan Avenue North Upgrades
RENTON: The City of Renton recently received a $.4.6 million grant from the State of Washington
Transportation Improvement Board for improvements to Logan Avenue North.
The project will improve public safety for pedestrians and traffic operations for motorists, freight and transit.
It will also improve access to I-405 and SR 900, Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park, the Lake Washington Loop
trail and Cedar River trail, and to the new RapidRide transit stops.
The Logan Avenue North project will replace failing pavements in the corridor to create a continuous
pedestrian facility on the east side of Logan Avenue N between the Ced ar River Bridge and N 6th Street, and
make it safer for pedestrians crossing N 3rd Street at Logan Avenue N.
The project is currently in the preliminary design and environmental documentation stage. Final design is
expected to begin in early 2014. Construction may begin as early as the summer of 2014 and will be
completed by the end of 2015.
A public open house for this project will be held in mid-January to provide the public an opportunity to see the
plans for the project, talk to those developing t he project and provide input. For more information contact
