Renton Municipal Arts Commission Announces 2014 Grants
RENTON: Renton Municipal Arts Commission (RMAC) has released the names of recipients of this year’s
grants. The grant program helps local groups fulfill their goals for developing and supporting arts and culture
in Renton. The grants are made possible by a grant provided to RMAC by 4Culture. 4Culture is the cultural
services agency for King County, Washington and supports citizens and groups who preserve our shared
heritage, and create arts and cultural opportuniti es for residents and visitors.
A grant review committee assessed the proposals based on meeting RMAC goals. The total amount awarded
was $11,000. Grantees include Allied Arts of Renton, Arts Unlimited, Renton River Days, Renton Film Frenzy,
Renton Farmers Market, Renton Civic Theater, Renton Annual Art Show, Rainier Chorale, City Soil, and Evil
Slave LLC.
Renton Municipal Arts Commission was formed by Resolution 1320, on August 9, 1965. Overseeing an annual
budget, the commission is charged with the responsibility of acting in an advisory capacity to city government
in connection with the artistic and cultural development of the city. The commission strives to support and
connect people with arts and culture endeavors in the Renton community. For more information about
