City of Renton Passport Processing to Change Location, Procedures
Renton: Beginning March 1, passport processing at Renton City Hall will move to the Municipal Court
Clerk’s Office located on the 3rd floor. As a part of this change, passport processing will be conducted by
appointment only, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The Municipal Court Clerk’s Office expects to take between 30-40 passport appointments per day, and
will expand the hours if needed.
The City of Renton became a Passport Acceptance Facility in May of 2003. This allows the city to assist
with applications for a US passport, though the decision to issue or deny a passport is made by a US
Department of State Passport Agency, not the City of Renton.
More information can be found on the city’s passport webpage or by calling its passport line at (425)
430-6985.
