Traffic Advisory – Temporary Road Closures
RENTON, WA – The City of Renton will temporarily close a portion of three roads as part of the city’s Central
Renton Interceptor Sanitary Sewer Replacement construction project. The closures will take place from
10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on September 6-8 and September 11-15. The road closures include:
Sunset Boulevard North
All southbound lanes of Sunset Blvd North will be closed between the northbound I-405 on-ramp and
North Third Street. Southbound motorists proceeding past the intersection of Sunset Blvd NE and
Bronson Way NE (entrance to the Windsor Hills neighborhood) will be directed onto northbound I-405.
Motorists will be detoured to Edmonds Ave NE for access to NE Third Street. Two lanes of northbound
Sunset Blvd N will remain open during the construction.
Exit 4 Southbound I-405
Exit 4 on southbound I-405 will be closed at the same time as Sunset Blvd North. Southbound I-405
motorists who normally use Exit 4 will need to use Exit 2 (Talbot Road South) or Exit 5 (NE Park Drive).
Houser Way Bypass
The Houser Way Bypass will be closed in both directions at the same time as the Sunset Blvd North and
I-405 off-ramp closures.
Any questions about the closures should be directed to John Hobson, the City of Renton’s project manager, at
