Subject: Building Permit Plan Review – Final Submittal

Dear Mr. Shuey:
We reviewed the proposed project for compliance with the structural provisions of the 2018
International Building Code (IBC) as amended and adopted by the state of Washington and
the City of Renton. The permit applicant has responded successfully to our comments.
Drawing Revisions
New structural drawing sets were submitted in response to our plan review. These sets should
replace any previous sets submitted with the original permit submittal. The new drawing sets
are dated April 12, 2024.
Special Inspections, Submittals, Tests, and Structural Observation
Structural special inspections: Special inspections by qualified special inspectors should be
provided. Please reference the special inspections indicated drawing 1R0.00.
Structural tests: Tests by qualified special inspectors should be conducted. See the material
sections on Sheets 1R0.00 of the structural general notes for specific requirements.
Structural submittals: Reports, certificates, and other documents related to structural special
inspections and tests should be submitted to the City of Renton. See the material sections on
Sheets 1R0.00 of the structural general notes for specific requirements.

Structural Observation: Structural observation during construction is required for this project
per IBC Section 1704.6. The section of the structural general notes on Structural Observation,
Sheet 1R0.00, specifies structural observation by the structural engineer.
Corrections and comments made during the review process do not relieve the permit applicant
or the designers from compliance with code requirements, conditions of approval, and permit
requirements; nor are the designers relieved of responsibility for a complete design in
accordance with the laws of the state of Washington. This review is for general compliance
with the International Building Code as it relates to the project.
