Project History
Renton Village Associates has owned the cinema property
along with The Evergreen Building and Renton Village
Shopping Center since 1987. The cinema was first developed
as a three screen multi-plex in 1964, then as an eight screen
multi-plex in 1989. Smaller cinema houses like these are now
obsolete. This site can make a much higher contribution to
the Renton community and meet demand for new housing in
the Renton market.
Purpose of Meeting:
This meeting will facilitate an informal discussion between the
project sponsor and neighbors, regarding the project
goals.
Project Goals:
1. Build a quality project enhancing the entrance to the City
of Renton
2. Create an attractive mixed–use community combining
residential uses with existing retail services and office uses
3. Create a housing community that complements the planned
South Renton Transit Center and a community that is less
reliant on fossil-fueled, single occupant vehicles
