PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The applicants (Vincent & Heidi Ventin) propose to
exceed the maximum of 3 household pets to allow 2 dogs (one 50·lb Vizsla and one 8·lb Chi-
Jack) in addition to 3 cats. The additional two pets require an Additional Animals Permit. An
Animal Control Inspector conducted an inspection of the property and premises on November
21,2011.
DECISION CRITERIA (RMC 4·9·100G):
The Planning Division Director shall review requests for Additional Animals Permits for
compatibility of the proposal with the surrounding neighborhood. In order to determine that
the site and facility will be adequate and to ensure the humane and appropriate care of the
animals, the Planning Division Director may require that the property be inspected by an
Animal Control Officer. Factors to be considered in determining compatibility and adequacy
are:

1., 5. Animal Control conducted an inspection of the property and premises on November 21,
2011 and concluded that food is properly contained, animal waste is appropriately managed,
and that the animals are well behaved.
2. There is no history of animal complaints at this property.
4., 6. The site inspection revealed that the premises and home are clean, and that the site is
appropriate for the two dogs and three cats.
CONCLUSION:
Staff recommends approval of the Ventin Additional Animals Permit.
DECISION: The Ventin Additional Animals Permit is approved.

APPEALS: Appeals of permit issuance must be filed with the City of Renton Hearing Examiner
by 5:00 p.m. on December 29, 2011. Appeals must be filed in writing, together with the
required fee to the City of Renton Hearing Examiner, City of Renton, 1055 South Grady Way,
Renton, WA 98057. City of Renton Municipal Code Section 4-8-110 governs appeals to the
Hearing Examiner. Additional information regarding the appeal process may be obtained from
the Renton City Clerk's Office, (425) 430-6510.

RECONSIDERATION: Within 14 days of the decision date, any party may request that the
decision be reopened by the approval body. The approval body may modify his decision if
material evidence not readily discoverable prior to the original decision is found or if he finds
there was misrepresentation of fact. After review of the reconsideration request, if the
approval body finds sufficient evidence to amend the original decision, there will be no further
extension of the appeal period. Any person wishing to take further action must file a formal
appeal within the 14-day appeal time frame.
EXPIRATION: The Additional Animals Permit is valid as long as the operator is in compliance
with the City requirements and has not had the Additional Animals Permit revoked. In addition,
all animals that are required to be licensed shall be individually licensed according to the
regulations found in Chapter 5-4 RMC, Animal Licenses. Failure to renew animal licenses as
required in Cchapter 5-4 RMC shall trigger review and/or revocation of the Additional Animals
Permit.
