PROPOSAL DESCRIPTION: Applicant proposes to demolish two (2) buildings
within the boundaries of the Stoneway site, located at 1925 Maple Valley Highway in Renton.
The site is within 200 feet of the Ordinary High Water Mark (OHWM) of the Cedar River.
The work includes the removal of concrete under the structures, and the removal and treatment
of approximately 10,000 cubic yards of Class B pit run. The concrete would be hauled to the
Stoneway Black River Concrete Recycling site in Renton for disposal. The majority of the pit
run would be stockpiled on site, treated, and reused on site for future development. The
balance of the soil would be hauled to Cedar Shores after it has been treated. No import of
material to the subject site is proposed.
The site is relatively flat. Drainage currently flows to existing settling ponds.
The proposed demolition and soil removal would take place during November and December,
2007. Completion is anticipated prior to the end of December, 2007.

Stoneway Project Narrative: Stoneway is applying for a Demolition Permit for its
proposed activities within its property boundaries located at 1915 Maple Valley Hwy in
Renton. The work proposed includes the demolition of two buildings (buildings made of
wood and steel) totaling 3200 sq ft and the existing concrete at grade in the general area
of the two buildings. Excavation and removal (to be stockpiled on site) of approximately
,I' 10,000 cubic yards of existing Class B pit run existing under the concrete is also included
in the proposed work. The proposed scope of work will include an excavator, a loader,
and dump truck with 4-5 employees working for Stoneway Concrete/Gary Merlino
Construction Company.
Project Name: Stoneway Demolition
Description of Proposed Work: Demolition of two (2) buildings totaling approximately
3200 square ft. and surrounding concrete at grade including minimal excavation of
existing soils.
Days and Time of Hauling: Monday thru Friday 8:30am-3:30pm
Disposal of material: Concrete will be hauled to Stoneway Concrete Black River Quarry
and a portion of the soil will be kept on site for future use and the remaining balance of
the soil hauled to Cedar Shores after it has been treated.
Dust/Mud prevention on local roads: Stoneway will have a street sweeper on site during
all demolition construction activity to help contain dust and mud.
Basis for Exemption Request: Activities necessary for preparation of permit application
