Subject. Landscape Plan Approval — Shainklri Special Fence Permit
LUA 07-142, SF
Dear Mr. Shamklii-.
This letter is to inform you that City of Renton staff has received your landscape plan for LUA
07-142, Shamkhi Special Fence Pennit submitted on March 17, 2008. Staff has determined that
the landscaping should be revised to provide more of a variety of vegetation where the setback of
the fence sits farther back than 5 -feet from the property line_
If Miododendron and Azelea are used to supplement the proposed landscaping, as previously
proposed, then no further action is required on your part. A site visit will be conducted to verify
installation of landscaping including the supplemental flowering vegetation (Rhododendron and
Azelea) where the setback of the proposed fence is greater than 5 feet from the property line.
If you plan to use plantings other than Rhododendron and Azalea to supplement the submitted
landscape plan then a revised landscape plan shall be submitted for approval by the Current
Planning project manager by April 7, 2008. The revised landscape shall include flowering
plantings where the setback of the fence is greater than 5 feet from the property line.
If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact me at (425) 430-7219.
Sincerely,

Reasons to get special fence permit
To provide privacy and security to my family that can not be created by a 4
feet fence. I have a child becoming a toddler in the next few months we do
not feel my child would be safe and secure in the back yard playing. A 4 feet
fence will not deter people or large animals from scaling the fence to get to
my back yard. Also to having kid fun house and play sets may become
tempting to other kids in the area to try to use the equipment with no adult
super vision and become safety hazard. We are planning to install a hot tub
in the back yard a 4 feet fence will create no privacy to us without being
observed by the neighbors and any one passing by the area.
The house is at 2 to 3 feet elevation from the street. The property sloping
down towered the street start at 2 feet in the back (south side) and move to 3
feet in the front (north side) the slope designed for control running water. A
4 feet fence would feel as 2 or 1 feet high as we move from the south side to
the north side of the fence these height are far short to provide a any privacy
to.
The development has 3 corner lots at 90 degree and one rounded corner very
similar to my lot they have constructed a 6 feet tall fences. Further more the
rest of the development has 6 feet fences constructed. The fence will be
complementing its surrounding and it would be ecstatically pleasing to the
area and the environment. It will match all fences in the area and will not be
out of scale
The fence would not obscure vision to pedestrians or to vehicles. Since the
lot is located on large radios corner the clear vision sits beyond where the
fence located, there for the fence would not hider the vision or the clear way
to cars or pedestrians.
The fence will be constructed with the same material to maintain coherency
in the area and be environmentally pleasing.
In front of the fence facing the street on 147 Backer Mountain it will be
landscaped and planed by professional with ever green bushes and flower
bushes to add beauty to the area, and the surrounding. It will be pleasing for
walkers, and the neighbors.
