SUBJECT: PROVIDENCE HEALTH AND SERVICES SITE PLAN MODIFICATION
(FILE NO: LUA 13-01265, MOD)
Dear Mr.Shea,
We have reviewed your request received September 11, 2013 and supporting materials
submitted for a modification to the approved Providence Health and Services site plan, located
at 1801 Lind Ave SW. The proposal is to:
1) Remove 531 s.f. of existing shrubs from work areas and transplant on the site;
"2) Reconfigure-concrete-paving"by removing 138 sci: ufconcrete, and "add-83 s.f: of new
concrete. One surface parking stall would be removed.
3) Add 127 s.f. of decorative paving (pavers would be 2 colors or textures) as a based
under a new bronze statue.
4) Install5S4 s.f. of new plants including one new tree.
The proposed modifications are analyzed by comparing the existing site plan with the proposed
site plan modifications. Our response is outlined as follows.
Renton Municipal Code, Section 4-9-2001, allows minor adjustments to an approved site
plan, provided:
A. The adjustment does not involve more than a ten percent (10%) increase in area or
scale of the development in the approved site plan; or
B. The adjustment does not have a significantly greater impact on the environment and
facilities than the approved plan; or
C. The adjustment does nat change the boundaries of the originally approved plan.

Staff supports the proposed revisions and finds that the proposal meets the review
criteria A -C above.
I. DECISION:
The requested revisions to the site plan have been evaluated in relation to the existing approved
site plan. Based on this analysis, we have determined that Items 1-4 requested by the
applicant are approved.
Please contact Craig Burnell, Building Official to discuss building permit requirements for the
new bronze statue. Craig can be reached at 425430-7290 or cburnell@rentonwa.gov
This administrative land use decision will become final if not appealed in writing to the
Hearing Examiner on or before 5:00 p.m. on October 9,2013. Appeals to the Examiner are
governed by City of Renton Municipal Code Section 4-8-110. Additional information regarding
the appeal process may be obtained from the Renton City Clerks' Office, (425) 430-6510.
Appeals must be filed in writing, together with the required appeal fee to: Hearing Examiner,
City of Renton, 1055 South Grady Way, Renton, WA 98057.

Dear Ms. Henning:
Providence Health and Services wishes to enhance the entry and place a "heritage" art
piece between Buildings A and B. To do so requires planting and paving revisions to
the existing approved plan (Submitted as Valley Office Park, Berger Job #
19932230.00).
The proposed changes are as follows:
1. Remove 531 SF of existing shrubs from work areas and transplant on site.
Existing tree (Hornbeam) to remain.
2. Reconfigure concrete paving. Remove 138 SF concrete. Add 83 SF new
concrete. One parking stall is removed.
3. Add 127 SF decorative paving (pavers of 2 colors or textures) as base to
bronze statue.
4. Install 554 SF of new plants including 1 new tree.
Please see the attached plans for hardscape and planting layout.
