September 5, 2023, Building Inspector Austin Carter posted this property with a Stop
Work Order.
The inspector stated: They have remodeled the downstairs kitchen, fireplace, removed a
recessed hot tub, demoed an existing part of the house. They also ran new wire for
pendants, and switches etc.

permit. The compliance date to contact the building department was September 22,
2023.

Code Text: The City of Renton Municipal Code requires building permits to be applied for and obtained by
any person, firm, or corporation to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve,
remove, convert or demolish, use, occupy or maintain any building or structure in the city.
Corrective Action: Immediately stop construction and contact the building department within 15 calendar days of
the date of this notice. Respond to all plan review comments within 15 calendar days of
request. Obtain the building permit within 15 calendar days of permit approval. Call for
inspection within 15 calendar days of permit issuance. Respond to all correction notices within
15 calendar days of notice and call for re -inspection. Obtain additional permits as needed.

Have you submitted the Roadway Drainage Determination (RDD) on our website? Please see the attached submittal
requirements and click on the link in the form and it will take you to the site to submit the RDD.
Also please be aware the is an open Code Case# Code23-000431, there will be a double fee for the work that was

Once you have received the RDD back from Development Engineering, please make sure you include all the required

also contacted the owner Izzy from Dubsea Properties who said he was aware
that the house was done without permits but as long as he disclosed this he could
sell. Explained the house could not be occupied until permits were obtained and
finaled. The new owner would be responsible for permits and inspections.
He said his contractor Jimmy came to city hall today and has been working on
permits. He will have Jimmy contact me.
Sheila & Eric reposted the house today.
We've notified owner, realtor and re -posted so we will see what happens.
Looks like the sale is pending on the MLS.

District with your permit submittal.
From the description of the type of work you are proposing, you will be applying for a Single -Family Residential
Alteration permit. I have attached reference materials and the application required for submitting a permit.
The requirements document that I have attached includes information on the type of documents that will be necessary
for you to submit a permit. Please read them over carefully, but should you have additional questions, please let us
know.
When you have all the application materials ready for submission you will email permittech@rentonwa.eov and
request an FTP link to upload your files to. You will need to provide the following information before that link can be
