July15,2024REGULARCOUNCILMEETINGMINUTES x CrystalLeatherman,Olympia,remarkedthatsheistheState&LocalGovernment AffairsManagerfortheWashingtonRetailAssociation,andexpressedsupportforthe proposedlegislationthatwouldrepealandreplaceInitiativeMeasureNo.23Ͳ02.  CONSENTAGENDA ThefollowingitemsaredistributedtoCouncilmembersinadvanceforstudyandreview,andthe recommendedactionswillbeacceptedinasinglemotion.Anyitemmayberemovedforfurther discussionifrequestedbyaCouncilmember. a)ApprovalofCouncilMeetingminutesofJuly8,2024.CouncilConcur. b)ABͲ3622FinanceDepartmentrecommendedauthorizingexecutionofaParticipationForm andAllocationAgreementforthepurposeofincludingtheCityofRentoninthefinal settlementagreementwithKrogerforopioidremediation;andrecommendsgivingtheMayor authoritytosignanyfutureopioidlitigationsettlementagreementswithadditionallitigants andanyotherrelatedforms,asnecessarytoparticipateinandacquirefuturesettlement fundspursuanttotheOneWashingtonMOU,whichwasapprovedbythecouncilon September12,2022..RefertoFinanceCommittee. c)ABͲ3620PoliceDepartmentrecommendedapprovalofaninterlocalagreementwiththe RentonSchoolDistrictforthe2024Ͳ2025SchoolResourceOfficer(SRO)program;theRenton SchoolDistrictwillpay$85,000eachschoolyearforeachassignedSROfortheperiod September1,2024,throughAugust31,2025.RefertoPublicSafetyCommittee. d)ABͲ3615PublicWorksFacilitiesDivisionrecommendedexecutionofanagreementwiththe WashingtonStateDepartmentofCommercetoaccept$267,626ingrantfundsforthe purposeofupgradingHVACcontractsandprovidingnewLEDlightingforRentonCityHall, HenryMosesAquaticCenter,CityShops,andatLibertyPark.RefertoFinanceCommittee.
