7-11.3(12) DECHLORINATION (SUPPLEMENTAL SECTION)
OFA'!Hl_ORINATION OF ALL WATER USED FOR DISINFECTION SHALL BE ACCOMF9LISHED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
rITYS STANDARD DETAIL INCLUDED IN THIS DOCUMlENT. WATER CONTAINING CHLORINE RESIDUALS SHALL MGT BE
DISPOSED INTO THE STORK DRAINAGE SYSTEM OR ANY WATERWAY.
7-11.3(l ) CONCRETE THRUST BLOCKING (REPLACEMENT SECTION)
PROVIDE 03MMETE 13LOCKING AT ALL HYDRANTS, FITTINGS AND HORIZONTAL OR VERTICAL ANGLE POINTS.
CONFORM TO THE CITY OF RENTON STANDARD DETAILS FOR GENERAL BLOCKING AND VTRTICAL BLOCKS HEREIN.
ALL FITTINGS TO BE BLOCKED SHALL BE WRAPPED WITH 4-MIL POLYETHYLENE PLASTIC. CXNCRETE BLOCKING
94ALL BE PROPERLY FORMED WITH PLYWOOD OR OTHER ACCEPTABLE FORMING MATERIALS AND SHALL NOT BE
POUlRED AROUND JOINTS. THE FORMS SHALL BE STRIPPED PRIOR TO BACKFILLING. SHACKLE RODS, WHERE
FIEQUIRED, SHALL BE INSTALLED WITH THE USE OF SHACKLE LUGS. ALL SHACKLE RODS SHALL BE GALVtWIZED
AND COATED WITH TWO COATS OF ASPHALT VARNISH.
7-12 VALVES FOR WATER MAINS
7-12.2 MATERIALS (SUPPLEMENTAL SECTION)
VALVES SHALL BE DESIGNED FOR A MINIMUM WATER OPERATING PRESSURE OF 200 PSI. GATE VALVES SHALL BE
IOWA LIST 14, MUELLER COMPANY NO. A-2380, PACIFIC STATES, U.S. METROPOLITAN, KENNEDY, OR M & H.
APPROVAL OF VALVES OTHER THAN MODELS SPECIFIED SHALL BE OBTAINED PRIOR TO BID OPENING.
ALL GATE VALVES LESS THAN 12" IN DIAMETER SHALL INCLUDE AN 8- x 24� CAST IRON GATE VALVE BOX AND
EXTENSIONS, AS REQUIRED. ALL 12- DIAMETER AND LARGER GATE VALVES SHALL BE INSTALLED IN A VAULT.
