THE KAND-PLACED BEDDING AROUND THE PIPE AUNU TO A POINT 6- ABOVE THE CROWN, SHALL BE FOOl-T#4PED UNTIL IT IS UNYIELDING. THE REMAIND�C BACKFILL SHALL BE MECHANICALLY TA04PED WIIH HAND -OPERATED MECHANICAL OR PNEUMATIC TAMPERS TO 95% DENSITY. PIPE SEDDIMG SHALL BE CONSIDERED INCIDENTAL TO THE PIPE AND NO FURTHER COMPENSATION SHALL BE MADE. 7-17.1(2)G SEVER LINE -CONNECTIONS (SUPPLEWNTAL SECTION) UNLESS OTHERWISE APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER, ALL CONNECTIONS OF LA-ERAL SEWERS TO EXISTING MAINS SKLL BE MODE THROUGH A CAST IRON SAOCCE SECURED TO THE SEWER MAIN WITH STAIK-E-SS STEEL BANDS. WK14 THE EXISTING MAIN IS CONSTRUCTED OF VITRIFIED CLAY, PILAN ON REINFORCED CONCRETE, CAST OR DUCrILE IRON PIPE, THE EXISTING MAIN SHALL BE CORE DRILLED. CONNFCTIONS TO EXISTING CONCRETE MANHOLES SHALL BE CORE-ORILLED, AND SMALL HAVE AN -0- RING RLEWR GASKET WE-TING ALSTM C-A78 IN A KANHOLE COUPLING EQUAL TO THE JO�*�MANVILLE ASBE TOS-CEMENT COLLAR, OR USE A CONICAL TYPE FLEXIBLE SEAL EQUAL TO KORE-4-SEAL. 7-17.3(2) 1 PROTECTION OF EXISTING SEWERAGE FACILITIES (SUPPLEPEWAL SECTION) WHEN EXTENDING AN EXISTING SEWER, THE DOWNSTREAM SYSTEM SHALL BE PROTECTED FROM CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS BY PLACING A SCREEN OR TRAP IN THE FIRST EXISTING MANHOLE DOWNSTREAM OF THE CONNECTION. IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO MAINTAIN THIS SCREEN OR TRAP UNTIL THE NEW SYSTEM IS PLACED IN SERVICE AND THEN TO REMOVE IT. ANY CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS WHICH ENTER THE EXISTING DOWNSTREAM SYSTEM, SHALL BE REMOVED BY THE CONTRACTOR AT HIS EXPENSE, AND TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE ENGINEER. WHEI THE FIRST MANHOLE IS SET, IT'S OLJTLET SHALL BE PLUGGED UNTIL ACCEPTANCE BY THE ENGINEER. 7-17.3(4)1 TELEVISION INSPECTION (SUPPLEMENTAL SECTION) ONCE THE TELEVISION INSPECTION HAS BEEN COMPLETED THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT TO THE l-NGINEER THE WRITTEN REPORTS OF THE INSPECTION PLUS THE VIDEO TAPES. SAID VIDEO TAPES ARE TO BE IN COLOR OR BLACK AND WHITE AND BE COMPATIBLE WITH THE CITY'S VIEWING AND RECORDING SYSTEM.S.THE (�ITY SYSTEM ACCEPTS 1/2" WIDE HIGH DENSITY VHS TAPES. THE TAPES WILL BE RUN AT STANDA.RD SPEED SP (1 5/16 I.P.S.). 7-17.4 MEASAJREMENT (PARTIAL REPLACEIIENT SECTION) REPLACE PARAGRAPH 4 WITH: EXCAVATION OF THE SEWER TRENCH WILL BE MEASURED THE SAJ�E AS STRUC-LJRE EXCAVATION CLASS 8 AS SPECIFIED IN SECTION 2.09. ADO: MEASUREMENT OF BANK RUN GRAVEL FOR TRENCH aACP�FILL WILL BE BY THE TON, IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 1-09.1, OR BY THE CALCULATION OF NEAT LINES BASED ON MAXIMUM TRENCH WIDTH PER SECTION 2- 09.4 USING A CONVERSION FACTOR OF 1.5 TONS PER CLA31C YARD, WHICHEVER 15 LESS.
