Detailed Scope of Work
The 1986 Small Bridge Repair and Guard Rail bid proposal includes 2
Schedules that are the base bid: Schedule "A" - Hardie Ave. S.W. Rail-
road Undercrossing, and Schedule "B" - May Creek/Jones Ave. N.E. #2
Bridge. The alternate, Additive Schedules are: Schedule "C" - May
Creek/Jones Ave. N.E. #1 Bridge; Schedule "D" - S.W. 16th St. Bridge;
Schedule "E" - N.E. Lake Washington Blvd./May Creek Bridge; Schedule "F" -
Golf Course Bridge Replacement; and Schedule "G" - City Wide Beam Guard
Rail and Precast New Jersey Barriers.
Award
The City may award only the base bid items, some or all of the Additive
Schedules C, D, E, F, and none, all, or part of Schedule G. All bidders
must respond to complete Schedules, and partial bids will be accepted
for complete Schedules.
The City reserves the right to award all Schedules, or any combination of
the Schedules to different bidders. The bid Schedule "G" is comprised of
the 20 different work s ites listed in the Standard Drawings. The City
reserves the right to award and proceed with none, any, or all of the
work sites, using the as bid prices in the proposal.
Hardie Ave. S.W. Railroad Undercrossi 7 _' NHE LK "A" This work task
involves installation of new beam guard ra a ria ch approach To the
railroad bridge columns. The existing east sidewalks must be removed
and replaced to accorrwnodate the new guard rails. The existing east
side landscaping, irrigation, and existing manhole must be adjusted as
required and replaced, inked, and adjusted to meet the new walks and
guard rail. The new beam guard rail on all bridge approaches shall be
the standard 37 112' parabola with a beam guard rail anchor Type 1, at
the outboard ends, and a Type 2 transition and a bridge connector Type
8, per Standard Plan C-5. The northwest bridge approach shall be ex-
tended northerly beyond the large Puget Power Utility Park, before
starting the 37 112' parabola and standard anchor Type 1. All work
shall be accomplished within the 5 as bid pay item S. Any pit run gravel,
crushed rock surfacing, and asphalt pavement required, shall be incidental
to the as bid pay items,
May Creek/Jones Ave. N.E. #2 Bridge SCHEDULE "B" This work task
involves pavement reconstruction and new, New Jersey Concrete Barrier
Type 2 installation. The existing rails and post s shall be removed,
the existing brush, grass and debris cleared 5' beyond the existing
traveled roadway. New crushed rock surfacing, shall be installed on
shoulder areas and compacted. Con s truct a 24' wide roadway on all
approaches to the culvert bridge, and as wide as practicable across the
culvert bridge, and 100' outward from the center of the bridge culvert,
