WSTER COMPUTER) AND STANDBY OPERATION. THE CONTROLLER SHALL ESTABL-SH THE SEQUENCE OF SIGNAL
PHASES, INCLUDING OVERLAPS, IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE SIGNAL PHASING DIAGRAM ON THE PLANS. WHEN
OPERArING THROUGH THE ON-LINE MASTER COMPLFTER (MULTISONIC KASTER) THE CONTROLLER SHALL BE CAPABLE
-OF OPERATING EITHER IN A FIXED TIME MODE OR IN A FLLLY-ACTUATED MODE WITH vOLumE DENSITY ON FACH
PHASE AS REQUIRED. ALL CLEARANCE TIMING AND PEDE57TRIAN TIMING SHALL BE ACCOMPLISHED AT THE LOCAL
INTERSECTION.

DIRECTLY INTO A RACK WIRED TO ACCEPT 3-M DISCRIMINATOR TYPE UNITS. THE PRE-EMPTION SYSTEN
OPERATION SMALL BE COMPATIBLE WITH THE 3m COHPAxy 'OPTICOM� SYSTEM WHICH
THE CITY OF RENTON IS

WHEN A PRE-EMPTION DETECTOR DETECTS AN EMERGENCN VEHICLE, THE PHASE SELECTOR SHALL HOLD THE
CONTROL -ER IN THE REQUIRED PHASE OR ADVANCE DIRECTLY TO THAT PHASE AFTER OBSERVING ALL VENICLE
CLEARANCES. THE PHASE SELECTOR SHALL HOLD THE CONTROLLER IN THE PHASE SELECTED UNTIL THE DETECTOR
NO LONGER DETECTS THE EMERGENCY VEHICLE.
WHEN THE PHASE SELECTOR IS RESPONDING TO ONE DETECTOR, IT SHALL NOT RESPOND TO ANY OTHER DETECTOR
L94TIL CALLS FROM THE FIRST DETECTOR ARE SATISFIED. INDICATOR LIGHTS 9-WL INDICATE POWER ON,
SIGNAL BEING RECEIVED, CHAN1NE-L CALLED. SWITCHES SHALL CONTROL SYSTEM POWER 44D SIMULATE DETECTOR
CALLS FOR EACH PHASE.
