Bv negotiating the sale rather than holding a put'lic bid opening, which must'be set in advance, the City would be protected against selling in an abnormally high interest rate climate and would instead have some flex:bility t- gauge market conditions before selling. Ways and Means Committee r-h- man Keolker indicated that this matter has been discussed in Comm.EEee and action will be taken under Ordinances and Resolutions. (See later action.) Police: Kent Drinking Added letter was read from Nancy Mathews, Program Assistant for the Kent Driver Task Force Drinking Driver Task Force, 220 Fourth Avenue South, Kent, inviting Public Safety Committee members, Police Chief Alan Wallis, and Crime Prevention Officers to attend a meeting of the task force to discuss their alcohol server training Program for hospitality industry employees, and join their efforts in controlling drinking drivers. In cooperstion with the Washington Liquor Control Board, free monthly training meetings are held for these employees, whose jobs carry a high degree of responsibility and liability for making appropriate decisions for their customers. Information is provided to assist them in identifying minors and detecting Patrons who have reached their alcohol limit.
