Bahbah, Principal August 31, 2017 City of Renton, Department of Community & Economic Development Environmental Review Committee Attention: Angelea Weihs 1055 S Grady Way Renton, WA 98057 First Ukranian Pentecostal Church — Project Narrative and Justification For The Modification Request Project Narrative The proposed church extension is to provide a larger more comfortable open sanctuary and lobby space and to replace the old pews with non -fixed seating without increasing the seating capacity and without affecting the current parking situation. Additionally, since there are more than adequate number of parking stalls, lawn areas will not be used for parking. Justification For The Modification Request The existing parking meets the needs of the church and replacing the pews with non -fixed seating maintains the number of seats of 442, which only requires 88 parking stalls. Currently there are 103 existing parking stalls The classrooms downstairs, which are for kids who attend Sunday school, are only occupied after the first hour of a regular Sunday service when the kids are dispersed. The meeting room and banquet room downstairs, which are used for meeting, fellowship or special occasions such as wedding receptions, are also only occupied either after a regular Sunday service or another time after the service or during the week, but never at the same time as a Sunday service is taking place. Therefore the occupancy of the classrooms, meeting room and banquet room shouldn't be included in the parking calculations. Sincerely, IHB Architects Oscar Gestoso, Project Manager
