The church is looking to purchase the property from the current owner, Strada de Valle. There was a conditional use permit granted to Oasis Seattle Church on or around December 12, 2006 and the File Number is LUA-06-130, CU-H, and the community impact relative to parking and traffic has been established. Walker Chapel is an African Methodist Episcopal Church. We have approximately 50 members. Our service hours are Wednesday, Prayer and Bible Study from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The business hours for the building at 2300 and 2500 East Valley Road are 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Thus, our business hours are staggered with those of the other buildings, and we foresee no problems with parking or traffic. Walker Chapel does not foresee that our hours of operation would be different from the previous church. Because the majority of our members meet on Sunday morning, the traffic we produce fits well into the traffic patterns of the neighborhood, and very few meet on Wednesday we believe our impact on traffic is actually less than that of the prior occupant, which did business during normal business hours and created traffic at peak hours. It is Walker Chapel aspiration to use the same floor plan that was approved on or around December 12, 2006. There will be no increase in area or intensity of the property; or any significant environmental impact to the previous approval CUP. There are no plans to expand any area on the property internal or external at this time. The building is not currently vacant and there is a church occupying the building.
