Re: City of Renton Local Permit LUA17-000869 —Approved
Verizon Wireless — Applicant
Approved Shoreline Substantial Development Permit (SDP) 92018 -NW -4083
Dear Sir or Ma'am:
On February 5, 2018, we received the City of Renton decision on your SDP to install a concealed
wireless communications facility on the rooftop of an existing two-story commercial office
building. All equipment associated with this will be entirely concealed within two eight -foot -tall
enclosures that match the architectural style of the existing building. The project is located in the
High Intensity shoreline environment designation along the Cedar River, a shoreline of statewide
significance.
By law, local governments must review all SDPs for compliance with:
• The Shoreline Management Act (Chapter 90.58 RCW).
• Ecology's SDP approval criteria (Chapter 173-27-150 WAC).
• The City of Renton Local Shoreline Master Program.
Local governments, after reviewing SDPs for compliance, are required to submit them to
Ecology. We have received and filed your approved SDP.
Please note, however, that other federal, state, and local permits may be required in
addition to this shoreline permit.
What Happens Next?
Before you begin activities authorized by this permit, the law requires you wait at least 21 days
from February 5, 2018, the "date of filing." This waiting period allows anyone (including you)
who disagrees with any aspect of this permit to appeal the decision to the state Shorelines
Hearings Board (SHB). You must wait for the conclusion of an appeal before you can begin the
activities authorized by this permit.
