As part of the Talbot – PACCAR 115 kV Transmission Line Reconductor project, PSE will be trimming
select trees within mapped geohazard critical areas in order to facilitate construction and/or continued
long-term operation of the transmission line. In addition, one previously topped 8” cottonwood will be
removed from a heavily disturbed regulated stream buffer. PSE vegetation management standards
require mature vegetation exceed 25 feet in height to be managed in order to meet clearance
requirements from the transmission lines. None of the trees identified to be trimmed are located within
20 feet of the current transmission pole locations and select branches will be removed as part of the
management activities for this project. No tree canopy will be trimmed over 40 percent of the existing
canopy size.
