Project Description: (Summary of the intended use or project purpose)
WSDOT Northwest Region is proposing roadway, bridge and trail work as part of the I-405, Renton to Bellevue Project,
Stage 1. Project work includes construction of a portion of the May Creek Trail within WSDOT right -of-way via an 8-foot
wide soft surface path within the Urban Conservancy shoreline environment at May Creek. Project impr ovements also
include the construction of a paved bicycle and pedestrian path along the Eastside Rail Corridor Regional Trail from Ripley
Lane in north Renton to the City of Renton’s northern boundary, adjacent to Lake Washington, within the Shoreline Sing le
Family Residential environment. The request also includes a shoreline variance from the design criteria for public access
sites under RMC 4-3-090D.4.d.i in order to deviate from trail width and permeable material requirements .
