All new Medicare cards will come in the mail. Nothing needs to be requested. There is a current scam whereby someone claiming to be from Medicare will call to say a card is on the way but that a temporary card is needed and a fee is required for the temporary card. They will ask for personal information so they can process the temporary card. Remember: Medicare handles all communications by mail unless you call them.  Sunday, April 1st through Wednesday, June 6th. The Solid Waste Utility is launching the “Bring Your Own Bag (BYOB)” campaign in efforts to reduce plastic bag use and litter throughout the city. The public is encouraged to bring reusable bags when shopping and complete an online survey about plastic bag use. The survey is available at surveymonkey.com/r/PlasticBagRenton through June 6th. Tickets are $25 with all proceeds benefitting Renton Technical College Foundation’s student scholarship fund.  Join Renton Police Officers at one of the Coffee with a Cop events. The mission of Coffee with a Cop is to break down barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve by removing agendas and allowing opportunities to ask questions, voice concerns, and get to know the officers in your neighborhood. This project is weather dependent. In addition, northbound and southbound nighttime lane restrictions and closures along SR 167 and I‐405 are also scheduled this week related to the project. The Renton Hill Utility Replacement Project has commenced with anticipated completion in May 2019. Following completion of the utility project, an overlay of the affected surface streets will be conducted as part of the 2019 overlay project. The overlay is scheduled to be completed prior to October 31, 2019.
