DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT Page 1 of 1 | Published: 2/01/2018 Planning Division | 1055 South Grady Way, 6th Floor | Renton, WA 98057 | 425-430-7200 Website: rentonwa.gov FEE IN LIEU OF STREET IMPROVEMENTS APPLICATION Published: 2/01/2018 If the developer of an infill single family residential building permit or short plat wishes to pay a fee in lieu of constructing the required street frontage improvements, this application shall be submitted to the City for review and determination of the proposed request. The City may accept payment of a fee in lieu of requiring installation of street improvements in the following circumstances: There are no similar improvements in the vicinity and there is no likelihood that the improvements will be needed or required in the next five (5) years; or Installation of the required improvements would require substantial off-site roadway modifications; or The Administrator determines the installation of the required improvement would result in a safety hazard; or Other unusual circumstances preclude the construction of the improvements as required. Specific Code Section(s) related to this document RMC Ch 4-9-060 Deferral of Improvement Installation Procedures 1.Fill out the Fee in Lieu of Street Improvements Application. 2.Submit the completed Electronic Copy of the Fee in Lieu of Street Improvements Application as part of the applicable Residential Building Permit Application or, in the case of a Short Plat, the Civil Construction Permit Application. 3.Upon submission of a complete permit application, the City will review the Fee in Lieu Application and issue a Determination as part of the corresponding review of the applicable Permit Application. If the request is approved, the Fee in Lieu Amount will be based on the Current City Fee Schedule in effect at the time the applicable permit is issued, and is payable prior to issuance of the permit.
