The proposed project consists of two mesh banners to be installed on the existing chain link fence along
the public ROW at the southeast corner or Lake Washington Boulevard N and Houser Way N. The City of
Renton is the owner of the chain link fence where the banner is proposed to be installed. A Tier 2
Temporary Use permit will be provided for the install.
The current site is vacant and being used for staging for the construction of the adjacent Marriott
Residence Inn. The banners will be placed on the existing fence so that there is no site obstruction to
the adjacent signal or visibility obstruction through the intersection as the fence is located
approximately 15’ from the roadway and parallels the eastbound only lane along Houser Way. There
are no special site features. No modifications are proposed to the existing property.
Two separate banners will be installed along the south portion of the fence. The size for each banner is
24’ x 4’ for a total of 48’ x 4’. The banners themselves are a mesh material to allow for wind to pass
through. They will have reinforced grommets and be installed with heavy duty zip-ties to the existing
fence. Install date will be September 14, 2018. The banners are to remain in place for up to 18 months.
