CALL TO ORDER
Ron Reg�s, Chair, called the January meeting to order a# 4:30 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Robert Logue made a motion seconded by Marge Richter to approve the
December 1999 minut�s as written. All were in fa�or, motion carried minutes
approved.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Jim Shepherd announc�d the following upcoming e�ents:
✓ MoJo @ Carco Theatre on January 15tn
✓ Seattle Mime and Rys Thomas on February 6"' C�? 2:00 p.m.
✓ Darren Montamedy - February 13�h 7:00 p.m.
✓ Racquetball toumament February 19�'' {Men's & Women's Divisions)
CONSENT
Western Bank requested use of the community center parking lot on Wednesday,
March 1, 2000, for approximately 35-40 cars arriving between 6:30 a.m. and
returning 6:30 p.m. A ski bus will pick tf�em up and drop them back off. Staff
recommends approval of this one-time request. Marge Richter made a motion
seconded by Michael O'Donin to approve this parking request. Motion carried,
request approved.

OLD BUSINESS
Dave Clark introduce� Rosa DiCarlo, of Cal �ordan and Associates, and
presen#ed a model r�ndering of the proposed site plan for the Veterans Memorial
Park. Dave stressed i# was a prelim�nary design and conceptual plan. The
model featured a star pattem with granite tiles o# 6 X 6" witF� names of �eterans.
The design featured colored concre�e with subtle changes in t�e tone. The walls
wer� graduated heigF�ts to make it inviting to enter and provide security. Only the
back 'h walls were 6 feet kn height. They were in�estigating features #o
discourage skateboarder. The flags would b� lit 24 hours.
Acceptance of the prelim�nary drawings would enable Da�e to make a more
detailed model. The group felt this would generate greater interest and sales of
tl�e tiles for financing the monumen#. Bob Logue made a motion to approve the
preliminary design and concept as presented. Marge Richter seconded the
motion. Mr. Logue commented he fiked the location and believed such a
memorial was long o�erdue. All present were in fa�or. Motion carried, design
approv�d.
OTHER
Mr. Shepherd mentioned two names had bee� submitted for the downtown park
(naw referred to as the Piazza). At next month's meeting t�ose subm'rttals would
be presented to the Board for considerat�on and recommenda#ion to Council.
ADJ�URNMENT
Robert Logue made a motion seconded by Tim Searing to ad�oum the meeting.
All were in favor, mation carried. ThE January 2000 meeting was adja�med at
4:55 p.m�
