CALL TO ORDER
The City of Renton Park Board August meeting was called to order by Chair,
Ralph Evans, at 4;31 p.m.
APPROVA� OF MINUTES
Michael O'Donin made a motion seconded by Ron Regis to approve the July
minutes as written. All were in favor, motion carried, minutes approved.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
New employees Kelly B�ymer, Golf Course Manager, and Jon Jainga, Capital
Projects Coordinator, were introduced to the members.
CONSENT
Sylvia Allen, Recreation Director, reviewed the consent agenda. There was no
discussion or questions on any of the submittals. Marge Richter mad� a motion
to approve the consent agenda wi#h staff recommendations, Cynthia Bums
seconded the motion. All w�re in fa�or, consent agenda approved.
OLD BUSINESS
Farmers Market
At the June Park Board a member of the Yakima Valley Growers Association
�-equested to hold a FarmErs Market for t�e mon�h of August at the Piazza. This
request was approved. The group requested to change tf�at#o the month of
Sep#ember. Cynthia Bums made a motion seconded by Marge Richter to
approve this change. All were in favor, request appro�ed,
Syl�ia Allen reviewed the draft comprehensive plan execu#ive summary. There
were questions on clarification of terms, including nEighborhood �s. community
parlc� Troy Wigestrand requested to give Sylvia some corrections on the
inventory after the meeting. Sylvia wi11 mail out#he final draft as soon as possible
prior to the September meeting allowing time for rerriew and any other changes.
Change to park rules
Council referred to Park �oard a review of the park r�les to see �f any change�
were needed to accommodate Southport. The Board sees no reason for
changes at this point.
OTHER
Expirat�on of terms
Cynthia ar�d Michaef}s tErms will expire soon. They both indicated an interest in
extending their positions.
AUDIENCE COMMENT
Ralph Evans commen#ed on the sound system at the Farmers Mar�cet, I�E felt the
mus�c was too loud.
Cynthia B�rns commented on the teen musical and how much she enjoyed ot
ar�d felt it sent out a good message.
ADJ�URNMENT
Cynthia Burns made a mc�tion seconded by Troy W�gestrand to adjo�m the
meeting. All were in favor, motion carried� T�e August meeting was adjourned
at 6:06 p.m.
