HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/12/2003 - Minutes City of Renton �� � Park Board Minutes City Hall 1055 South Grady Way St�' Floor—Room 511 August 12, 2003--4:30 p.m. in Attendance: Members Staff Others Cynthia Bums, Chair Sylvia Allen AI Diec�Cman Ralph E�ans Leslie Betlach Michael �'Donin Kelly Beymer Marge Ricnter Dennis Culp Ron Regis Sandy Pilat Tim Searing Jerry Rerecich Absent Tray Wigestrand CALL TQ ORDER The August 12, 2003, Park Board meeting was called to order by Chair, Cynthia Burns, a# 4:30 p.m. APPRQVAL OF MiNUTES A motion was made by Michael 4'Donin and seconded by Marge Richter to appro�e the July minutes. All were in favor, motion carried. The July minutes were appro�ed as written. ANNOUNCEMENTS De�nis Culp announced tne upcoming closures for cleaning and yearly maintenance for the Renton Cammunity Center and Senior Activity Center. The score board dedication for the golf course will be held on Saturday, August 23'�, at 8:D0 a.m. CORRESPQNDENCE Scott Dungan addressed a letter to ChiEf Anderson, copying the park board members, regarding an incident that took place on ti�e Cedar River on July 10�h. Chief Anderson r�sponde� to Mr. Dungan's concerns. CONSENT Mr. Culp re�iewed the consent letters that were not submitted prior to mailing out the packets. Ralph Evans requested clarification on a date. There were no other City of Rcnton Park Board Minutcs Augus� 12,2dd:� Page2af2 q�estions or discussion. Ralph Evans made a motion to approve the cor�sent agenda with staff recommendations. The mo#ion �as seconded by Marge Richter. All were in fa�or, consent agenda approved. NEW BUSINESS Proposed aquatic center fees were presented. Sy�via Allen, Recreation Director,. re�iewed the suggested fees and explained how staff arrived at these figurEs. Market research using data from King County pools, Tacoma/Metro Parks , Mases Lake and Belle�ue pool were used as a guideline. Ralph Evans made a motion to appro�e the fees as presented and discussed. Marge Rich#er seconded the motion. All present were in favor, tY�e aquatic c�nt�r fees were approvedm OTHER Comments were made about how the skateboarders were pleased with the rerto�ation and how nice the hanging baskets laoked this year. Also noted was the gavd job done on the centennial marke�s booktet. Cyn#hia Burns inquired a�ou#the attendance of the teen musical this year. Sylvia Allen will bring a report next month on the numbers. ADJOURNMENT Tim Searing made a motion, seconded by Ralph Evans to adjoum the meetir�g. All were in fa�or, mo#ion carried.
