AGENDA ITEM #1. a) Community Outreach Efforts •Project website –www.kingcounty.gov/ESI-02 o Sign up for project updates (emails or texts) •Briefed key stakeholders, including: o The Landing o Southport /SECO o Renton Chamber of Commerce o Kennydale Neighborhood Association o North Renton Neighborhood Association o Signature Auto Detail •Contacted and/or provided project information to: PACCAR/Kenworth, The Reserve Apartments, Sanctuary Apartments AGENDA ITEM #1. a) •People understand the need for the project; •Main concerns are: •Traffic and congestion •Noise and Odors –especially as they may affect residents or retail business •Addressing concerns •Traffic mitigation •Temporary odor •Noise attenuation What we’ve heard…from Community Outreach Efforts AGENDA ITEM #1. a) Community Outreach Efforts As we move further along with the project, the County will: •Mail out project information •Continue to meet with people interested in the project •Provide updates to the project website •Hold an online open house •Send out regular updates during construction •Reach out to the Renton Schools about the County’s environmental and wastewater education programs and activities AGENDA ITEM #1. a) Next Steps Currently beginning 60% design phase. Includes locating and potholing of existing utilities along bypass route Construction planned to begin-March 2019 Work anticipated to be substantially complete January 2020 Dependent on easements and permits Submit for permit applications in October 2018 To meet construction schedule requires permit issuance prior to January 1st, 2019 AGENDA ITEM #1. a)
