AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO AGREEMENT FOR SAILING CENTER
STRUCTURAL ASSESSMENT AT COULON BEACH PARK.
THIS AMENDMENT, dated November ��2018, is by and between the City of Renton (the
"City"), a Washington municipal corporation, and PND Engineers, Inc. ("Consultant"),
Washington Corporation. The City and the Consultant are referred to collectively in this
Amendment as the "Parties." Once fully executed by the Parties,this Amendment is effective as
of the last date signed by both parties.
Whereas, the City engaged the services of the Consultant under Agreement CAG-18-177, dated
September 7, 2018, to provide necessary services for the Coulon Beach Park Sailing Center Float
Assessment (referred to herein as the "Agreement");
Whereas, the Parties wish to amend the Agreement to change the scope of work, change the
time for performance, and change the compensation in order to provide engineering design
documents for the structural repairs to the Sailing Center Float at Coulon Beach Park.
NOW THEREFORE, It is mutually agreed upon that CAG-18-177 is amended as follows:
1. Scope of Work: Section 1, Scope of Work, is amended to add work as specified in Exhibit
A-1.
2. Time of Performance: Section 3, Time of Performance, is amended pursuant to the
schedule(s) set forth in Exhibit A-1. All Work shall be performed by no later than
December 31, 2081.
3. Compensation: Section 4, Compensation, is amended so that the maximum amount of
compensation payable to Consultant is increased from $ 18,500.00 to $ 21,000.00 ,
plus any applicable state and local sales taxes. The additional compensation shall be
paid based upon Work actual performed according to the rate(s) or amounts specified
in Exhibit A-1, which is attached and incorporated herein.
4. All terms of the Agreement not explicitly modified herein shall remain in full force and
effect and such terms shall apply to Work performed according to this Amendment as if
fully set forth herein.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Parties have voluntarily entered into this Agreement as of the date
last signed by the Parties below.

stringers, equally spaced. The stringers support both the timber decking and the
P�rtiana Styrofoam flotation billets. Based on the comprehensive structural inspection PND
zzo Nvv a�h���nUe completed in September 2018, a variety of minor to moderate repairs were
i��raa�a,or������zo� identified to bring the float back to a sound functional condition. The repairs will
rh�,n�:sos.�is.�3s� include the following:
�n�h<,ra�e • Replace all fender attachment, fascia, and trim boards with new PT boards

Two (2) drawings will be generated for the above noted repairs. Repair locations
will be noted on plan with associated details, as applicable, provided on a second
"�""'.�°a`"�;'net`�.`°m sheet. The drawings will reference the contract documents under CAG 18-062 for
general notes and specifications.

Assumptions
• Repair and replacement work will follow recommendations noted in the October 2018
inspection.
• Only repair/replacement of the damaged connection and structural elements in immediate
contact with the connection are included in this scope of work.
• No design of elements is included. Elements will be replaced to match original
damaged/decayed elements.
• City will provide compiled review comments within three weeks of the only submittal, 100%.
• Schedule for submittal of the 100%design package will be dictated by receipt of comments
pertaining to the October 2018 inspection report.
• Repair or replacement to structural elements not specifically identified in this scope of work are
excluded.
• Analysis of the existing float for vertical,wind or seismic loading unless the member has been
identified for repair or replacement is excluded.
Schedule
Following approval of this proposal by the City of Renton, PND agrees to perform the above-described
services and to diligently pursue the project and make every reasonable effort to finish all items in a timely
manner. The following is the proposed schedule for the project. PND will refine this schedule based on
further discussion with the City

The total compensation for the work on this project shall be adjusted with this amendment. Note that
work associated with this amendment will be completed on a time and expenses basis.
