Hello Patrick,
Your understanding is correct. You will not be required to underground the existing overhead power along the 156th Avenue SE frontage and the pole relocations are sufficient. You do
not need a variance.
We should have minor civil comments back to you today. Once some minor revisions are made we will be ready to issue permits.
Thank you,
Ian Fitz-James, P.E.

Hi Ian,
I recently spoke with Lee Brown at PSE regarding MeadowVue and he mentioned the City requiring some sort of variance to allow power to not be undergrounded along the boundary of the
plat. My understanding was that we would not be required to underground the power, and that pole relocations would be sufficient. Can you please confirm that we are not going to be
underground the power at MeadowVue, and whether or not a variance will be required? It sounds like this is not something Lee or the permit folks at PSE have ever encountered with the
City of Renton, so any clarification would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
