Draftstopping materials shall not be less than 12 inchgypsum board, 38" wood structural panels, 38" Type 2-M-W particleboard or otherapproved materials adequately supported. Draftstopping shall be applied parallel tothe floor framing members.2. Fireblocking: (per IRC R302.11) Fireblocking shall consist of minimum 2" nominal lumber.Refer to R602.8.1 for more approved fire blocking materials. Fireblocking shall beinstalled vertically at the ceiling and floor levels, horizontally at intervals not exceeding10 feet, and at openings around vents, pipes, and ducts at ceiling and floor level.SUMMARY 7-7: FLASHINGProvide approved corrosive resistant flashing (per IRC R703.8) at exterior wall envelope toprevent water entry into wall cavity or structural components.1. Flashing at exterior windows and door openings shall extend to surface of exterior wallfinish or to the water resistive barrier for subsequent drainage.2. The Building Thermal Envelope shall meet the requirements of Sections WSEC 402.1.1through R402.1.4IRC:M1507.3 Whole House mechanical ventilation system shall be designed in accordancewith Sections M1507.3.1 through M1507.3.7.IRC:M1507.3.2.0 & IMC:403.8.2 Installers shall provide the manufacturer's installation,operation instructions that enable manual override.IRC:M1507.3.2 #5 & IMC:403.8.2 Intermittent whole-house ventilation systems shall complywith 1507.3.2 #5.1 through #5.8.M1507.3.4 Whole house ventilation using exhaust fans. This section establishes minimumprescriptive requirements for whole-house ventilation systems using exhaust fans. A systemwhich meets all the requirements of this section shall be deemed to satisfy the requirementsfor a whole-house ventilation system.IRC:M1507.4.1 & IMC:403.8.6.4 Whole House Ventilation Fans. Exhaust fans providing wholehouse ventilation shall have a flow rating at 0.25 inches water gauge as specified in TableM1507.3.3(1). Manufacturers' fan flow ratings determined according to HVI 916 (March 2009)or AMCA 210.IRC:M1507.4.2 & IMC:403.8.6.5 Fan Noise. Whole house fans located 4 feet or less from theinterior grille shall have a sone rating of 1.0 or less measured at 0.1 inches water gauge.Manufacturer's noise ratings shall be determined as per HVI 915 (March 2009). Remotelymounted fans shall be acoustically isolated from the structural elements of the building andfrom attached duct work using insulated flexible duct or other approved material.IRC:M1507.3.2 & IMC:403.8.2 Controls and Operation - Comply with M1507.3.2 sections 1-5.IRC:M1507.3.4.4 & IMC:403.8.5.1 Outdoor Air Inlets. Outdoor air shall be distributed to eachhabitable room by individual outdoor air inlets. Inlets meeting the requirements of thissection are marked at the window size callout with "FAV" indicating the "Fresh Air Vent"requirement.IMC:504.5 Make-up Air Vent. When make-up air is needed, an opening having an area notless than 100 square inches shall be provided.Intermittent operationContinuous operation 25 cfm1. The following will apply unless shown on drawings. All wood framing details shall be of aconstruction that meets or exceeds the minimum standards in the IRC. All framing shall conformto the requirements of chapters 5,6,7,8 and 9 of the IRC. Minimum nailing shall conform to TableR602.3(1) of the IRC. Height and spacing of studs shall conform to Table R602.3(5) of the IRC.2.
