Enclosed you will find the Permit Application for removal of trees growing over Olympic's
pipeline in the city of Renton at four separate locations.
Olympic would like to remove the trees that are growing over the pipeline to prevent
damage to the pipeline and to preserve the safety of the pipeline. The tree roots could have
an adverse effect to the cathodic protection system of the pipeline, the tree roots could
potentially damage the pipeline coating and in rare or extreme circumstances, the tree roots
could cause pipeline failure.
