The responses to bidder inquiries, unless incorporated into a formal addendum to the contract,
are not part of the contract and are provided for the bidders’ convenience only. The responses
may be considered along with all other information furnished to prospective bidders for the
purpose of bidding on the project. The use of information provided in the responses to bidder
inquiries is not to be construed in any way as a waiver of the provisions nor excuse the contractor
from full compliance with the contract requirements. Bidders are cautioned that subsequent
responses or contract addenda may affect or vary a response previously given and any such
subsequent response or addenda should be taken into consideration when submitting a bid for
the project.

What is the Engineer’s Estimate for the project?

The Engineer’s Estimate for the project is $1,200,000. This information is currently posted on the
project summary page.
Bidder Inquiry No. 2
Sheets 4/TE‐1 to 8/TE‐5 call out for a High Visibility Silt Fence, but sheet 9/TE‐6 shows a
standard plan for a High Visibility Fence. Please clarify.

Bidder Inquiry No. 3
As you know, this particular project has a large overlay and would be more advantageous to do
during warmer and more consistent weather conditions. Would this project begin in the middle
of June?

This is a federally funded project and it will be held to the standards outlined in the 2018
Standard Specifications. We plan to award and begin construction as soon as feasible taking
into consideration that the project must be approved by our City Council.
Bidder Inquiry No. 4
In Section 8‐22.2 of the Special Provisions, the plastic pavement marking materials shall be Type
A – liquid hot applied thermoplastic unless indicated otherwise in the Contract Documents.
However, on sheets 33/CH‐1 to 37/CH‐5 general note 3 states that all plastic markings shall be
Type D‐1 MMA unless indicated otherwise. Please clarify.

Conduit run 16 in the Wiring Schedule on sheet 45/TS2 under “Remarks” say to see paving plan,
however there is no reference to conduit run 16 on the Paving Plans. Please clarify.

Bidder Inquiry No. 6
Bid Item A53 has a quantity of 525 SF, there is one construction note calling for a Landscape
Block Wall and that is Note (20) on sheet 16/RD‐2. The detail for the Landscape Block Wall
found on sheet 26/RD‐12 restricts the height of the wall to a maximum of 2.5 feet, so there is
not enough wall length shown in the plans to justify 525 SF. Please clarify.

Sheets 15/RD‐1, 18/RD‐4 and 19/RD‐5, shows Paving Note 10 as adjust existing catch basin to
grade per Std Plan 101.1, see sheet 24/RD‐10. What is the intention with these catch basins? Do
they all need to be adjusted?
