OTT 8/10/2017 PUBLIC WORKS UTILITY ENGINEER-WATERAPPROVED WITH THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS. 1.The alignment for the proposed water main may not be installed within 10’ of the proposed building. Design need to dimension distance. 2.The proposed power crossing over the proposed water, the power must be encased within a 4” thick RED tinted concrete encasement. The engineer calls out to lower the water line for 12” min clearance which is acceptable but the depth may not exceed 6.5’ 3.18” vertical separation is required between the proposed water and proposed SD. Looking at the IE of SD and slope. There should be sufficient grade to achieve 18” by design. The proposed bend for the water main needs to be called out: provide N/E. Call out: THE THRUST BLOCK SHALL BE INSTALLED AGAINST UNDISTURBED SOIL. 4.The proposed sewer main is less than 18” vertical separation to the existing water main, therefore the engineer has two options: Install water quality C900 pipe for the sewer run (or) encase the SS pipe with 4” thick concrete slurry to 10’ lateral separation from the existing water main. 5.The use of a geotechnical engineer is not required as long as the proposed thrust block is pushing against undisturbed soil and installed per city standards drawings.
